I have lectured or led retreats for women between the ages of 35 and 60 and spoken to groups of women religious, to mixed groups in parish setting, to university faculty members and students.
Preferred Audience Size
I adapt the approach to the size of the audience. I have addressed as few as 30, as many as 1600. I prefer about 50-100, if the group expects extended interaction.
Stipend
This is negotiable and depends if the presentation includes facilitation of group process. The stipend would usually be between $500 and $800.

Kaye Ashe, OP is a Sinsinawa Dominican who served as Prioress of her Congregation. She has a doctorate in History, French Literature and Church History. She taught for many years at Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois, and teaches at present at St. Mary's College of California. She has written The Feminization of the Church? and has a keen interest in women's history and spirituality.

Mario Belotti, born in Bergamo (North Italy) in 1948 is a member of the Montfort Missionaries (SMM). After his seminary formation in Rome, he spent 18 years in Asia (India and Philippines), teaching in seminaries, serving in a project for the rehabilitation of leprosy patients, conducting retreats and formation for the laity and the clergy, facilitating and supervising community-building processes for a number of religious institutes. In 1996 he earned a doctorate in Wholistic and Cross-Cultural Spirituality at Catholic Theological Union of Chicago. He published three books on topics related to formation within the context of Marian Spirituality and a series of booklets is in preparation concerning Psycho-Spiritual Formation. At present he travels between Italy, Malawi and the USA lecturing, conducting workshops and offering pastoral counseling.

Almost any group, though my material is more suited to religious, in active ministry or in contemplative life.

I do not ask for a stipend. What is offered for my presentations is placed in our foreign mission endowment and is used for religious missions in the third world.
Presenters Background
Francis Blouin is Provincial Superior of the American Province of the Brothers of Christian Instruction. He completed his undergraduate work at LaMennais College, a Masters at Catholic University, and a Ph.D. at Fordham University. He has done post-graduate work in Rome and England, as well as in the United States. He has served as teacher, guidance counselor, high school principal and college president. Brother Francis has published in a variety of journals including Spiritual Life and Review for Religious in the areas of prayer, education, freedom, faith and religious life. Through the years he has served on a variety of boards, and currently is Vice President of the Coalition for the Homeless in Maine, Vice Chair of the Council of Churches, Chair of York County Shelters, Inc., and a resource person for Brothers in East Africa. His list of honors includes Life Member of the Jewish Cautaugua Society and recipient of The Israel Peace Medal. He enjoys reading, traveling, bridge and chess.

A native of Racine, Wisconsin, William Burkert is a graduate of Catholic University with a degree in Philosophy, American University with a degree in Biology and Washington Theological Union with a Masters in Theology -- all in the Washington, D.C. area. Fr. Burkert has served in Our Lady of Victory Parish, an inner city parish in Los Angeles, California, The Chapel of the Sacred Heart, a Hispanic National Parish in Lorain, Ohio, and as Vocation Director of the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity in Silver Spring, Maryland. From parish and administration work Bill became the co-director of the Ministries Center for the Laity, Brooklyn, New York, and the Trinity Ministries Center, Stirling, New Jersey, which were dedicated to the development of collaborative ministry. He has given workshops and retreats at parishes, religious communities, dioceses and universities. Bill had been on the faculty of Retreats International Summer Institute (Notre Dame, Indiana) for the past 17 years. He is author of Hunger, Encounter and Celebration. Presently, he is the pastor of a large urban parish in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

John Catoir is the founder and current president of the St. Jude Media Ministry, a national apostolate which uses radio and television to reach out to the millions of unchurched people in America. Born and raised in New York City, he graduated from Fordham University School of Business, spent two years in the U.S. Army and then entered Immaculate Conception Seminary in Darlington, New Jersey. He has an earned doctorate in Canon Law from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. and honory degrees from a number of universities. He ran the Diocesan Marriage Tribunal for ten years, and for 17 years was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Christophers, a multi-media, non-profit corporation in Manhattan where he hosted the nationally syndicated weekly television series Christopher Closeup. John was Director of Communications for the Diocese of Paterson and Executive Director of Eva's Kitchen and Sheltering Program in Paterson, New Jersey's largest comprehensive poverty program and one of the largest emergency shelters in the nation. He has written fifteen books, including Enjoy the Lord, World Religions and most recently God Delights in You: An Introduction to Gospel Spirituality. He is also a syndicated columnist for Catholic News Service. He is the recipient of a variety of honors and awards.

Donna Ciangio, OP is a Dominican sister of Caldwell, New Jersey and has a Masters in Art and Art Education from New York University. She is the Project Director of the National Pastoral Life Center, responsible for Small Community Services, conference development and training for pastors; in this capacity she works with the Center's diocesan and parish staff planning services. Donna has served in pastoral and school ministry in urban and suburban parishes, on the RENEW staff as Associate Director and later as National Coordinator and then International Coordinator where she provided training and support ot diocesan and parish leaders in over a hundred dioceses around the world. She has been lecturing and training extensively, helping priests, parish staffs and small community core teams to understand the small community movement. She authored "Small Christian Communities", a widely read article published in Church, as well as many training manuals on small community development currently in use in many countries around the world. Her current project is the NPLC's parish development process "Follow Me!": Disciples For the 21st Century, which helps a parish with formation, parish planning and small faith communities. Sr. Donna is a member of the board of the North American Forum for Small Christian Communities and a regular faculty member for RI's Summer Institute.

Keith Egan holds the Joyce McMahon Hank Aquinas Chair in Catholic Theology at Saint Mary's College where he directs the Center for Spirituality. He is also Adjunct Full Professor of Theology at Notre Dame University. His doctorate is from the University of Cambridge, England. Keith is a corresponding Fellow of the Institutum Carmelitanum in Rome and a member of the North American Carmelite Forum. He has published widely on Christian and Carmelite Spirituality and has lectured throughout North America and various countries in Europe.

Fran Ferder is the co-director of Therapy and Renewal Associates, a ministerial counseling and consultation center in the Archdiocese of Seattle. She is a licensed clinical psychologist in Washington and Oregon and a part-time faculty member in the School of Theology and Ministry at Seattle Universtiy.
Fran is a native of Salem, Oregon and a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. She has had more than twenty years of minsterial and professional experience as a college professor, director of student counseling, psychotherapist, and psychological consultant for various religious communities and dioceses, and a research director for a major social ministry study.
Fran holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University, Chicago and a Doctorate in Ministry from Aquinas Institute of Theology, St. Louis. Fran is also a frequent presenter at national conferences and workshops. She is the author of Words Made Flesh (Ave Maria Press), and with Rev. John Heagle, has co-authored Partnership: Women and Men in Ministry and Your Sexual Self: Pathway to Authentic Intimacy (Ave Maria Press). Fran and John have also produced two videos entitled "Finding Peace" and Coming Home" in the InterAction Series of Gospel Attitudes. Fran has published several articles in various journals over the past fifteen years. Fran's most recent publication is a chapter entitled "Qualities and Competencies of the Catechetical Leader" in Empowering Catechetical Leaders, published by the National Catholic Educational Association. Fran and John are currently writing a new book on a pastoral theology of sexuality and human relationships.

Richard Fragomeni is a Roman Catholic priest from the
Diocese of Albany, New York. He studied Theology and Religious Studies
at the University of Louvain, Belgium, and Liturgical Studies at Catholic
University. His doctoral work focused on the role of cosmological symbolism
in the Christian understanding of the dynamics of conversion. He also
completed a masters in music in vocal performance at Catholic University.
Richard has been on the faculty of The Catholic Theological Union in
Chicago since 1990, and he also serves as Spiritual Director at the
Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii in Chicago's Little Italy. He is a coordinator
of liturdy and music for the North American Forum on the Catechumenate.
He has been active with the implementation of RCIA, parish renewals
and diocesan workshops on Liturgy and Music, and as speaker and seminar
leader at associations for pastoral musicians and liturgists. Richard
has authored Come to the Feast: An Invitation to Eucharistic Transformation,
a number of journal articles, and has co-edited two books.

Since 1970 Paula Gonzalez, Sister of Charity of Cincinnati, has offered over 1300 talks, minicourses, seminars and retreats on various aspects of Futuring and Planetary Awareness. In the early 1980's Paula gained direct experience with passive solar design and super-insulation techniques while converting a chicken barn into a passive solar residence. This experience has led to energy consulting in the USA, Mexico and Canada. A second major building project in Cincinnati resulted in the 1995 opening of EarthConnection, a center for learning and reflection about "living lightly" on the Earth. Several summer "Greening" Institutes have addressed the role of the Catholic, Christian, Interfaith and Educational communities in restoring balance within the ecosystems of our planet. Paula has written a series on Ecospirituality for Today's Parish and developed audiotape minicourses on Earth-healing for St. Anthony Messenger Press and Credence Cassettes. She has authored chapters in Embracing Earth: Catholic Approaches to Ecology, Ecology and Religion: Scientists Speak and Earth at Risk. Her work in solar design and construction is described by the Union of Concerned Scientists in Renewable Energy Solutions.

She helped design a Marriage Enrichment program for the United Methodist Church to be used nationally and wrote their training manual for leaders. Benni has taught annually at the Retreats International Summer Institute for the last ten to fifteen years, and has been a faculty member of the Hesburgh Center for Continuing Formation in Ministry (HCCFM) for about the same length of time. Keith Hosey is Co-Director of John XXIII Center in Hartford City, Indiana, a position he shares with Maureen ("Mo") Mangen, CPPS. He is a priest of the Diocese of Lafayette, Indiana; he was assigned as the first director of the center in 1966 and since that time has been involved in retreat work and prayer seminars for clergy, religious and laity in various parts of the country and abroad.
Keith gives retreats to priests, women and men religious and laity, often together with Mo Mangen. He also preaches parish missions and ecumenical retreats. John XXIII Center schedules retreats for many groups: married couples, singles, priests, women and men pastors and spouses, parents and young teens. Directed retreats and Spiritual Growth Community retreats have become a major part of the ministry which he has developed.
Keith served for ten years as an assistant pastor in Lafayette, Logansport and Elwood (all in Indiana) prior to his assignment in retreat work. He was ordained priest in Rome, Italy, in 1956 after having studied theology at the Gregorian University and completing undergraduate work at St. Mary's Seminary in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He was also a theological consultant to the U.S. bishop-participants in preparation for the 1987 Synod on the Laity. Others are more specialized; the retreat for survivors, and the spiritual direction formation and supervision of spiritual directors apply to selected audiences. I am comfortable working with you to design a retreat or workshop around these topics that meet your center's need.
Preferred Audience Size
Retreats or workshops designed to be interactive are best done with 12 to 25. I have worked with groups of 3 to 200 and am comfortable with both large and small groups. Material can be adapted for the size of the group.
Stipend
Airfare and housing are a given. Everything else is negotiable depending on what I am doing, the time involved and the size of the group. Average for a day presentation would be $300 and for a weekend $1000-1200. Again, negotiation is always possible.

Billie Mazzei is a storyteller, writer, artist, gardener, spiritual director and regular person. Her life is composed of holy moments filled with joy and sorrow. Married 40 plus years, she has three wonderful daughters and six superior grandchildren. Twenty-five years of parish ministry, 18 years of spiritual direction, 9 years of training others in the art of spiritual direction and 6 years of supervision of pastoral ministers give her many stories and lots of experience. Her educational background includes a Masters in Ministry. She is currently working with the Benedictine Sisters of St. Placid Priory in Lacey, WA, sixty miles south of Seattle. Her work includes leading retreats, teaching in their spiritual direction formation program, and offering spiritual direction and supervision. While she is a Roman Catholic woman, most of her spiritual direction is done with Protestant clergy. Her love of story and the Holy shape her life. She is interested in many things and she loves to laugh.

Barbara Reid, OP is a Dominican Sister from Grand Rapids, Michigan. She holds a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and is Professor of New Testament at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. She is the author of Parables for Preachers (3 volumes), Choosing the Better Part? Women in the Gospel of Luke, Preaching from the Scriptures: New Directions for Preparing Preachers (with Leslie Hoppe, OFM), A Retreat With St. Luke and The Transfiguration: A Source- and Redaction-Critical Study of Luke 9:28-36. She has published various articles on New Testament topics in journals such as Biblical Research, The Bible Today, Chicago Studies, Currents in Mission and Theology, Living Pulpit and New Theology Review. She is a co-editor of the Collegeville Pastoral Dictionary of Biblical Theology and is New Testament Bood Review Editor for the Catholic Biblical Quarterly. She has led a number of CTU's Israel Study Programs and Retreats.

Peggy Rosenthal has a doctorate in English Literature from Rutgers University and is currently co-director of Poetry Retreats, a program offering retreats and courses around the country on poetry and spirituality. Her book The Poets' Jesus (Oxford University Press, 2000) received honorable mention as the Book of the Year by the Conference on Christianity and Literature. She co-edited the anthology Divine Inspiration: The Life of Jesus in World Poetry (Oxford University Press, 1998). Her essays and spiritual reflections have appeared in Christian Century, Commonweal, Image, Cross Currents, and America. A Roman Catholic, a wife and new grandmother, she lives in Rochester, New York.

Stephen Bede Scharper, who holds a Ph.D. in religious studies from McGill University, is author of Redeeming the Time: A Political Theology of the Environment, and co-author with his wife Hilary Cunningham of The Green Bible. Formerly President of the Religious Education Association of the U.S. and Canada, he has taught in the area of religious ethics and the environment at McGill, St. Michael's College (Toronto), Prescott College (Arizona), St. Jerome's University (Waterloo) and the University of Notre Dame. He has served as an editor with the Catholic New Times newspaper, Orbis Books, Twenty-Third Publishing, and was Director of English-language publications at Novalis Publishing. Philip Sheldrake has been doing Spiritual Direction and retreats since 1976, and has been providing training in Spiritual Direction and retreat leadership since 1984. He has also been in formation work for religious and clergy-in-training (ecumenical). Philip is a writer on all areas of spirituality and has authored six books. He is the former General Editor of The Way and the former National Chair of the British Roman Catholic retreat movement (NRM). He has led workshops on spirituality in the UK, Ireland, the USA, India and Australia. Currently, he is a university professor and director of a university-based spirituality institute.

Richard Sparks, a Paulist priest ordained in 1978, currently divides his time between being a speaker/lecturer on the ethics workshop circuit and serving as pastor of Holy Spirit Parish, the campus ministry community for the University of California at Berkeley. His Ph.D. in Christian Ethics is from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where his dissertation was on treatment/ nontreatment decisions related to handicapped newborns. He is the author of two books, the most recent being Contemporary Christian Morality: Real Questions, Candid Responses, as well as numerous articles. Richard's areas of special interest include biomedical ethics, sexuality, and fundamental moral theology. His gifts as a scholar, teacher, pastor and "popularizer" make him an effective bridge-builder between academic ethics and pastoral practice.

Thomas Sweetser, SJ is the founder and co-director of the Parish Evaluation Project, which features a two-week consultation process with parishes called Parish Assessment and Renewal (PAR). Tom has taught at the Institute of Pastoral Studies (Loyola University, Chicago), the University of Dayton and Loyola University in New Orleans. He is author or Successful Parishes: How They Meet the Challenges of Change, and c-author of Leadership in a Successful Parish, Transforming the Parish, Recreating the Parish and Changing Pastors. His most recent book (available in 2001) is The Parish As Covenant: A Joint Effort. His articles have appeared in America, National Catholic Reporter, Commonweal, Chicago Studies, Today's Parish, Human Development and Church. Tom was educated in both sociology and theology. He received his Masters in sociology from the University of Minnesota, his Masters in theology from Loyola University in Chicago and his Ph.D. from Chicago Theological Seminary in a program of study combining sociology, theology and group process. He is a Jesuit priest of the Wisconsin province, and is originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Sidney Vineburg is the Rabbi/Spiritual Leader of Congregation
Cnesses Israel in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He is also adjunct Assistant
Professor of Religious Studies at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin,
and a weekly columnist for the Green Bay News Chronical. He holds Bachelors
in Jewish Philosophy from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York
and in Early Christianity from Columbia University in New York, and
a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Barrington University.
Rabbi Vineburg is Founder Emeritus of the New Community Shelter, and
has served two terms as President of the Brown County Clergy Association
and was a Public Member of the Special Legislative Committee on Faith
Based Approaches to Crime Prevention and Justice. He is currently President
of the Brown County Library Board of Trustees,Co-President of the Northeast
Wisconsin Interfaith Alliance, and a member of the Wisconsin Advisory
Committee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights. In 1997 Rabbi
Vineburg was cited as a "hometown hero" by the staff of the Green Bay
Press Gazette for his efforts to promote diversity and respect, and
was one of the five national finalists for the 1999 Walter Cronkite
Faith and Freedom Award given by the National Interfaith Alliance Foundation
for defending religious diversity in Green Bay. Sidney lives in Allouez
, Wisconsin, with his wife Devorah and their sons Michael, Benjamin
and Isaac.

I have addressed a wide variety of audiences from middle school through adults. I am comfortable with groups that represent diverse cultural populations as well as those that are more homogeneous. I give presentations in both retreat and workshop formats depending on the needs of the participants.
Preferred Audience Size
I do a lot of interactive activities and so prefer audiences of 20-50. However, the agenda can be amended to accommodate a larger audience.
Stipend
I usually charge from $400-700 for a full day presentation plus travel expenses. I use a sliding scale to accommodate organizations that do not have large budgets. My usual stipend for a two-hour presentation is $200.

Caroljean Willie, SC is a Sister of Charity of Cincinnati. She holds a BA in Sociology, a MEd in Reading and a PhD in Multicultural Education. She has extensive experience working cross-culturally in the United States as well as St. Lucia (Eastern Caribbean), Mexico, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. She has been an elementary, secondary and university level instructor as well as an administrator in very culturally diverse settings. Caroljean has served at the parish and diocesan level in religious education, mission education and Hispanic ministry. She currently works full-time as a cultural diversity consultant at the national level for education and healthcare institutions, as well as for parishes, retreat centers and other faith-based communities.

George Zornow, pastor of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Leipsic (Ohio), is the developer of Recovering Aspects of Spirituality and Prayer. He was educated at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana (majoring in Philosophy and Religious Studies); and at The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (study emphasis in Old Testament Wisdom Literature, Existential Theology, and Pastoral Ministry). George has also put extensive time into Clinical Pastoral Education (training in Pastoral Care & Counseling); and into on-going study in Pastoral Counseling, Spiritual Direction and Biblical Studies. He developed "Retreats on Aspects of Spirituality and Prayer" in 1991 and has been presenting regularly since that time. His "Crying Out to God" has drawn words of support from Walter Brueggemann, Donald Capps, James and Evelyn Whitehead, and Kenneth Pargament. He has led retreats and workshops in parish, retreat center, hospital, mental health facility, and other various settings. He has also led retreats and workshops for such settings as Retreats International's Summer Institute and the Association of Professional Chaplain's national convention.
