The Institute for Adult Spiritual Renewal
Important Information
Each week begins with check-in from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by orientation at 5:00 p.m. At this time you will have an opportunity to meet the faculty for the week, along with participants and Institute staff. Immediately following orientations participants are invited to a picnic dinner at 6:00 p.m. Commuters planning to attend the picnic should make payment arrangements prior to the picnic social.
CLASS FORMAT - Morning courses are generally offered in two hour segments Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.* Afternoon sessions are Monday through Thursday from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. Evening courses are Monday through Thursday from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Weekend courses will take place Friday afternoon, 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and all day Saturday, 9:00 to 5:00 p.m. Each course includes a total of 10 hours. *Since the 4th of July falls on a Friday this year, week one will hold class Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.
MEALS - For participants residing on campus all meals are included in the overall package. Each Monday evening we will enjoy a community picnic included in the basic package.
PRAYER/WORSHIP - Special prayer experiences will be offered for Institute participants twice each week. Theresa Donohoo and Rory Cooney will provide music at our liturgies. Other opportunities for prayer and worship may be found on campus.
WEATHER - Loyola is directly on the shore of Lake Michigan sometimes providing pleasant, cool breezes. All facilities are air conditioned so you may want to bring a sweater or light jacket. Typically, June and July are quite pleasant.
FURTHER INFORMATION - You will receive confirmation promptly after receipt of your registration. Make sure you indicate a second choice for courses should there be any cancellations.

REGISTRATION - Early registration assures you first choices for courses. There is a discount on tuition for those who pay all of their fees at the time of registration and before April 30, 2008. For those making partial payment at time of registration full tuition is charged. All registrations must be accompanied by the $60 non-refundable registration fee. See registration form on reverse side for Institute charges.
CEU CERTIFICATES - For those needing continuing education units, CEU certificates will be given.
COMMUTER WEEKEND COURSE - Commuters wishing to attend weekend courses will now receive a weekend package including one course, continental breakfast Saturday morning, and Saturday lunch in Simpson Dining. Commuters paying all fees in full before 4/30/08 are still able to receive the discounted tuition with this package.
GRADUATE CREDIT - May be awarded through the Institute of Pastoral Studies, Loyola University Chicago by special arrangement and with the addition of some appropriate requirements and payment of Loyola tuition. If you are interested in this option contact Robert Ludwig at

ROUND TABLE - On Wednesday evenings participants will have the opportunity to take part in a round table with faculty centered around the ideas and issues that come up for them during their experience at the Institute.
COUPLES -Only one registration fee is required for a couple; however, each partner must have a separate registration form and each must pay for room and tuition.
RESIDENT WEEKEND ARRANGEMENTS - Participants seeking housing for weekend courses may take advantage of a new housing package including meals. Select the "Friday night only" option for each night you will need housing. The $80 fee covers one night of lodging, Friday night dinner, and Saturday breakfast and lunch.
NOTICE FOR CANADIANS - All fees must be paid in U.S. Dollars. Non-refundable registration fee is $60. Until April 30th with all fees paid in full at time of registration, tuition is discounted to $180 per course. After April 30th and with partial payments tuition is $195 per course.
TRAVEL - Loyola is served by O'Hare and Midway Airports, Amtrak and South Shore train service and Greyhound Bus. For those coming from the Chicago metropolitan area, Loyola is easily accessible by local buses and trains.
CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY - If for some reason you have to cancel a reservation, your payments, less the non-refundable registration fee, will be returned in full up until May 31, 2008. After that date and until June 14, 2008, you will receive 80% refund on tuition and 100% for housing. After June 14 there is no refund.
Receive Graduate Credit through the Institute of Pastoral Studies at Loyola University Chicago
The following combinations may be completed to obtain three graduate credits offered through the Institute of Pastoral Studies at Loyola University Chicago, in conjunction with the IASR. In addition to attending the courses an integration paper will be required. Other courses may be taken for one graduate credit by students enrolled through IPS Loyola (also requiring a smaller integration paper).
